For those of you who have been following my blog for a while, you would know that a lot of my posts have been about my time in South Africa. If it wasn’t for the Wildlife Act, I wouldn’t have such experiences to share with you guys!
I have been approached by a member of the team that I worked with asking for my help, and I need you guys to make it happen!

So, what is the Wildlife Act?
I have done a couple of posts about the Wildlife Act, one called ‘The Good and the Bad’ and also where I talk about ‘My Scariest Experiences’! I also have a section about them on my ‘Charities’ page.
However, if you still need a bit more information about what they do and how they work, then you can view their website here.

Why does the Wildlife Act need contributions?
Typically, the Wildlife Act runs off volunteers. It is a charity where you pay for your accommodation and food, and also a contribution to the equipment which you use in return for spending a minimum of 2 weeks in Zululand.
During this trying time, the charity is really struggling as it cannot rely on the money coming in from volunteers. Some people have been incredibly generous and allowed them to keep the money they were going to pay them, but not everybody is as fortunate to be able to do that.

What do I get from contributing?
The Wildlife Act does not want people to think that you’re just another person donating. Instead, they’ve worked out a scheme which is very exciting.
In return for monthly support of $10USD or £8 (not including exchange rates) through my donation link, we would like to give our supporters access to an exclusive WhatsApp group either on uMkhuze, Tembe, Hluhluwe, iMfolozi or Manyoni. These are all different parks in which the Wildlife Act are based.
These WhatsApp on Project X groups will be exclusive platforms where Wildlife ACT Priority Species Monitors will provide a slice of African bush life as they go about their work, providing direct bush footage and insights into everyday life in the bush. The Wildlife Act Priority species include the African Wild Dog, lions, cheetahs, vultures, elephants and rhinos.
A minimum of US$20 per month will give supporters access to updates from two projects, minimum of US$30 for three projects and so forth.
This is not a permanent opportunity. It will only be available for a couple of months until volunteers are able to start arriving once more.

WhatsApp on Project X
With each WhatsApp group that you are a part of, you will receive:
- At least three to four posts per week from each project.
- No sensitive material will be shared.
We ask that virtual volunteers do not re-post, screengrab or forward any group content onto personal or public social media platforms as this is sensitive information and we do not want it in the wrong hands.
Can I get something from a one-off contribution?
I understand that a monthly contribution seems like a lot to ask for! And so I am personally offering something to those people who cannot afford that, and therefore are able to make a one-off contribution.
You can receive one of my images taken while I was working with the Wildlife Act, if that is something you would like. Or you can request something, be it a video of me doing something stupid to make you laugh or maybe book recommendations, or anything within reason!
Remember, the higher the contribution, the better / bigger the gift.
Where can I make a contribution, either one off or monthly?
The webpage where you can help us is linked to the ‘Donate’ button above. Let me know down in the comments below if you have made a contribution, or if you’re willing to share my fundraiser!
Every little helps during this time of need, and I will appreciate every single contribution that is made.
Such a shame to see how charities are being affected at the moment, but encouraging to see they are coming up with new and inventive ways to keep volunteers involved
It’s so sad that things like this are being affected in these times. Hopefully they can generate enough to keep going!
